The Wilfred Gichina Community and Alumni Center is a visionary project by The Gichina Trust, set to be established at Kiambu High School at an estimated cost of KSh 30 million. This Center is conceived as a dedicated hub to support quality education while strengthening the vital ties between the school, its alumni, and the wider community. Named in honour of Wilfred Gichina, whose leadership and service to the school span over a decade, the Center will offer a home for structured, impactful engagement.

The need for such a hub became clear during Wilfred’s tenure as Chairman of the Kiambu High School Alumni Community (2015–2025) and as a member of the Board of Management (2019–2025). Over this time, he witnessed firsthand the deep needs of students, particularly in mentorship, emotional support, and access to scholarships for the most vulnerable. He also observed the tremendous goodwill within the alumni and community network: a passionate and capable group, eager to give back but often lacking a structured and sustained platform through which to do so.
The Center is therefore designed to coordinate and sustain these philanthropic efforts, acting as the official entry point for alumni and community members to contribute their time, resources, and expertise. It will serve as a physical and operational base to streamline mentorship programs, administer scholarship initiatives, and organize events and campaigns that foster a culture of giving back. The Center will remove the ad hoc nature of past support efforts and replace it with a well-governed, transparent system that inspires confidence and invites long-term commitment.
By anchoring these efforts within a permanent institution, the Wilfred Gichina Community and Alumni Center ensures continuity across generations. It will not only uplift current students but also give alumni and friends of the school a meaningful role in shaping its future. The Center represents a bold investment in community-driven education and a belief that lasting transformation begins when schools and their communities rise together.
We’re inviting visionary partners to shape a future of education, mentorship, and giving.
The Wilfred Gichina Community and Alumni Center will be a cradle for innovators, a hub for scholarships, and a beacon of lasting impact.
