The Access and Awareness Gap

For too long, STEM has remained out of reach for many students in public schools. Not because of a lack of talent, but because of a lack of access. The gap between potential and opportunity is widened by outdated perceptions, limited visibility into STEM careers, and the absence of structured encouragement for students to see themselves as inventors, engineers, scientists, or creators. SAP exists to close this gap by placing STEM on the radar of young minds who might otherwise never imagine such futures for themselves.

Why Public High Schools Matter

Public high schools remain one of the most important frontiers for social equity in Kenya, and they hold the key to the country’s future workforce. Yet, too few of them provide the platforms, networks, or inspiration necessary for students to pursue STEM fields with confidence. SAP partners with these schools to ignite that spark by elevating awareness, celebrating role models, and normalizing STEM as a vital pathway to leadership and national development.
