The Kiambu High School STEM Center originated as a visionary idea by Mr. Wilfred Gichina during his time as Chairman of the Kiambu High School Alumni Foundation (KHSAF). Inspired by the need to prepare students for a future driven by science and technology, Mr. Gichina envisioned a world-class facility where learners could thrive in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Under his leadership, KHSAF and Kiambu High School formally adopted the initiative. The school allocated a dedicated piece of land for the project, marking a significant milestone in turning vision into action.
At the heart of this initiative is Build STEM, Brick by Brick, a call to action uniting alumni, students, parents, teachers, corporate partners, and well-wishers to build a lasting legacy of innovation and academic excellence.
The STEM Center will feature modern laboratories, classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, and technology hubs designed to nurture the next generation of engineers, scientists, and innovators.
Kiambu High School has a proud tradition of academic excellence. The STEM Center will strengthen its capacity to deliver hands-on learning, critical thinking, and practical STEM skills, empowering students to thrive in today’s knowledge economy.
To bring this vision to life, we aim to raise KSh. 400 million ( KSh. 250 million for construction and KSh. 150 million for equipping the center with advanced learning tools and technology).
Through the symbolic purchase of 1 million bricks at KSh. 400 each, supporters can become part of this lasting legacy. Every brick helps build not only the structure but also the future of a generation.
The Gichina Trust extends a special invitation to philanthropic organizations, foundations, and development partners to collaborate in making this vision a reality. As a key pillar in the tripartite implementation framework, the Trust leads efforts to mobilize strategic funding, forge mission-aligned partnerships, and ensure the delivery of a world-class, sustainable STEM facility. This is an opportunity to be part of a transformational legacy, shaping lives, communities, and the future of education in Kenya.
To drive this vision forward, Kiambu High School, KHSAF, and The Gichina Trust have established a tripartite implementation framework, combining the school’s leadership, the alumni’s mobilization power, and the Trust’s philanthropic strategy to deliver lasting impact.
